Here's a clue from one of today's crosswords: 'It may be coughed up to help out vehicle maker (6)' So c'mon live up to your name and Find me the Answer. OK so I know the answer already but I want to test you out (yet again). |

Bryan, I'm going out a limb here without the benefit of my usual conditions for crossword solving: a cup of coffee by my side while sitting in the conservatory, and general peace and quiet (my wife's busy hoovering at the moment). Is it phlegm? help and gm (general motors). answerfinder-ga |

rated this answer:![]() Great answer! It was in yesterday's Guardian crossword. But I now wished that I'd saved it for today's crossword, by Araucaria. Boy, am I struggling. |

Dear Bryan, Many thanks for this Q and tip. Hope you managed the crossword. Must admit, I more of a Telegraph crossword person myself (but not necessarily the politics). answerfinder-ga |

Hi AF Yes I eventually finished the Saturday crossword, after discovering a 16th Century Composer called Tallis - Thomas Tallis - who was apparently the Irving Berlin of his day. I am sure that you will readily recall his 'Spem in Alium'? Yes, the very same! All the Best Bryan |
