I would call that a "lantern clock."

Thank you for responding. Although there certainly is a resemblance, I
couldn't find an image of a lantern clock mounted on a base as in the
source photo. The materials seemed to suggest that lantern clocks were
wall-mounted. If you have a link to an image or description that
includes a base, I would accept your answer as official.

I'll leave your question open in the hope that another Researcher will
be able to help.

Thank you for your efforts. After doing further research, I believe
this may be a Daimyo (Feudal Lord) clock that used a uniquely Japanese
method of telling time and has no equivalent in the West.
