Ok...this should be easy, but I don't know the answer. I know that when I type a web address in my browser using the format www.?????.com that address gets cached and remains in "history" until I clear them all out by going to "tools then "internet options" then "clear history. However, I have discovered that addresses that do not require you to type the www portion of address seem to get permanently cached so that when I type b????.com all web sites that have been visited starting with "b" (again, there is no www in front of it)show in the drop down browser. In fact, not only do the websites that were accessed in that manner show, but so do any sites that are listed in my favorites. How do I expunge these? A tip will be added for a quick answer....say within 24 hours? | |

Hi thelonemonk, I'm glad I could help. Here it is again for your convenience: In Internet Explorer, select "Tools" from the menu, then "Internet Options" and then choose the "Content" tab. Next, look for the button at the bottom that says "AutoComplete." Click on the button which will make the AutoComplete Settings window appear. In it, click on the "Clear Forms" button to delete all your stored form entries. The options for Web Addresses, Forms and User names and passwords on forms may appear with a check mark in front of them. If you remove the checkmark from the desired option(s), the AutoComplete feature will no longer work. The first one, Web Addresses, works with your Address bar only. Best regards, Rainbow |
