Hi, When Windows reports a disk problem, your best bet is to run the disk checking utility. answer wasnt complete but them i didnt add that i couldnt run chkdsk but it did get me going in right direction ... ty very much |

Check this article, see if you can access the System Volume Information folder on G:, through Windows Explorer. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;309531 As the article mentions.. System Volume Information folder is a hidden, system folder that the System Restore tool uses to store its information and restore points. There is a System Volume Information folder on every partition on your computer. If you had to take any steps to get the access to the folder, restart the system and try defrag again. |

i ran the disk checking utility in safe mode and that seems to have done the trick ty... i used safe mode as it wouldnt run in normal mode thanks again |
