Hi There!

1. Passing through the San Francisco airport yesterday, I bought a
CD-ROM "Digital Picture Postcard." The manufacturer is
www.sharpresolution.com

2. I'm now looking for a DVD (not CD-ROM) which contains still photos
of desert or Southwestern locales. Ideally, I could put this DVD into
into my player, hit the start button, and the DVD would play
continuously.

3. My understanding is some people have DVDs with 250 still pictures
of artwork. They leave these playing in a continual loop on an unused
TV----sort of a miniature electronic art museum.

4. As far as I'm concerned, Monet, Manet, and Manatee are all the
same guy. That's why I need desert scenes.

A 5-star answer would be one or two sources for these desert DVDs (not CD-ROMs).

All comments greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million!
ron

Hi ron...

I searched, finally narrowing things down to about 40 results
with this tailored search:

-screensaver "desert landscapes" photography OR photographs OR images
OR pictures slideshow +DVD purchase OR buy OR "add to cart"
://www.google.com/search?q=-screensaver+%22desert+landscapes%22+photography+OR+photographs+OR+images+OR+pictures++slideshow+%2BDVD+purchase+OR+buy+OR+%22add+to+cart%22

I didn't find a single DVD. There are probably some CDs
but I don't think the DVD medium has become popular among
photographers, probably because a single DVD would hold
more photos than many have produced, and they would want
to charge per photo, I would think, so a DVD would run
very high.

I suspect your friends have DVD burners and have created
their own slideshows using available software and collections
they've downloaded or photographed themselves, or both.

If you go the route of creating your own DVD, there are
some amazing photographs available from ImageDancer.

Check out their galleries here:

And their CD screensavers here:

Sorry I couldn't find what you wanted...maybe someone else
will, but let me know if my suggestions take you in a new
direction.
