My site uses Mal's ecommerce and Paypal. I get customized receipts through mal's sent to my outlook email box as html attachments. I ship via PayPal's system. What I'm looking for is a way to streamline things. Batch printing, batch shipping. Currently I do everything myself, but if I decide to hire someone to help, I need them to be able to handle the shipping without accessing my PayPal account. Is there third party software available for this? Also, with the customized receipts, is there a way to batch print email attachments in outlook? Currently I have to open each email, and then open each attachment, and then print it. As for streamlining shipping, I currently use PayPal's integrated shipping options. However, even though 90% of the information is the same (Envelope/Package, 1 lb.), I have to do each individually. How can I batch this? My ideal solution is to have something NOT attached to PayPal so that I can have an employee do it without being able to access my PayPal account. |

While I can say I am not familiar with Mal, the situation you described seems to have a fairly simple solution, partially provided by PayPal. You will have to have certain databases on your site. MySQL works fine for this, and is available on most LAMP servers and shared hosting accounts. When your customer pays for your product via PayPal, the information about the transaction can be sent by PayPal to a script on your website. The script will log the sale into your database, along with the details required for you to fulfill the order. Your worker(s), from wherever they are (think remote fulfillment here) can login to your website, view the orders requiring filling, and take action as needed. They will not have access to your PayPal account. Visit the PP site for information about having them send transaction data to your site. Happy motoring! Ken Chipman http://eLynxWeb.com |
