I ship out several packages everyday from my home. I've been using
USPS Priority because:
1) it's inexpensive
2) USPS provides free priority envelopes
3) USPS provides free pick-ups
4) it's integrated with PayPal.

However, there is no tracking and I've lost several packages. Not to
mention the mailman is not exactly happy about picking up several
packages everyday. I'm wondering if there is a different service that
would provide these same options, without the USPS hassles.

When I checked, all the other carriers were much more expensive. AND
they don't pick up.

Is there a way to bring this price down and get my packages picked up
at home? Like by having an account or shipping out X amount of
packages per week, etc.

I'd prefer to use UPS because it's also integrated with PayPal, but if
I do get reduced pricing by having an account, will that apply with
PayPal?

Hello -

Is your average shipment in a priority-type envelope? How many pounds?

Most of my packages are 1 lb. (but sometimes -rarely- 2 lbs. as well)
and fit into the standard USPS Priority Envelopes (I think
12x15x3/4"). I'd like to get the price within about a dollar, and
international within a two dollars or so of current USPS international
rates.

I'm an eBay seller and offer these thoughts (although - perhaps - they
might not apply to you):

1) I don't think that anybody can beat USPS prices for low weight
shipments (the flat rate envelope is now $ 4 and something).
2) If you use USPS through Paypal, delivery confirmation is included
for free (for Priority Mail in the US).
3) Shipping internationally is very easy using Global Priority
Envelopes from the USPS ($ 5 - $ 10).
4) You can schedule pickups for free through usps.com (if your mail
carrier isn't pleased with this arrangement then you just have to tip
a little more at Christmas)
5) USPS supplies (envelopes/boxes) are free with free delivery - just
order from usps.com.

In other words, I started selling on eBay and had reservations about
using USPS but have come to the conclusion that they are not that bad
(I've shipped thousands of packages and have only lost one - to
Pakistan).

I hope this helps.

Have a good day.
