My Dell desktop locks up every day at 12 noon. If I hibernate 5

Did you look at your scheduled tasks?

I would look to see if there is anything questionable in there for 12:00.

Also does this behavior occur if you boot in "safe mode", this would
point to a hardware or software problem.

Mine freezes temporarily(3-5 seconds) when my anti virus starts doing
its scan. Maybe its that. Definatly sounds like something thats
scheduled at 12:00.

I have eliminated the scheduled tasks as a cause in the past. Nothing
has been scheduled for 12:00PM.I have deleted an action sched for
12:00 AM. Lets see if that works tomrrow. The following day I'll in
the 'Safe Mode'

Thanks

problem solved. I had a vestigial P-Quest imaging program with its
own scheduler. I found it active in a process check after 12:00 P.M.
