Dear johntumelty-ga I notice that your question has been unanswered for some time now, therefore I can assume that my fellow researchers have been unable to find anything on the internet that would be of assistance to you. From my own experience of researching houses in my village may I offer some suggestions? Please pardon me if you have done these already. A good starting point is a visit to the Berkshire Record Office: http://www.reading.gov.uk/berkshirerecordoffice/ There you will find maps, voters registers and rent accounts for your premises. In addition, newspapers, local council papers regarding licensing and court papers will provide information. Unfortunately with the exception of 1901 you are looking for information which is too recent for the available census returns. The 1901 census is online at: http://www.pro.gov.uk/census/default.htm All this will take time but it is worthwhile. It gives you a real sense of the people who lived in your house. Good luck. answerfinder-ga |
