What is the name of the artist and the track on the UK's Trigger Happy
TV series (late '90s/ear;y '00s) that accompanied the scene of the
street artist displaying the sign "No Beards", etc. It was mentioned
on the teletext subtitles, but I'm not aware it's on one of the
resulting CD's.

I'm glad to be able to help you identify your song. It is "If You
Could Read My Mind," by Gordon Lightfoot.

The song (along with other wonderful Lightfoot songs) is on this CD:

Amazon: If You Could Read My Mind
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000002KOS

My Google search strategy:

Google Web Search: "trigger happy" "no beards" song
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22trigger+happy%22+%22no+beards%22+song

Google Web Search: "trigger happy" "if you could read my mind"

I hope this is helpful! If anything is unclear or incomplete, please
request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further assistance before
you rate my answer.

Best regards,
