Carfax.com offers the service you seek, and is probably the
best known and most reliable of such services:
http://www.carfax.com/

I doubt that the information is available outside of such a
paid service. If this satisfies your interests in asking the
question, post a Clarification letting me know, and I'll
post a formal answer. A user's guide on Clarifications is on

No this does not answer my question. If you check with car fax or
consumers reports, etc they can't use a VIN prior to 1981 it does not
contain enouogh #-- they need 17#. Need a service that traces cars
back to 1961. May have to start at Rolls Royce factory to see who was
original owner via the dealership and who ordered the car. Most Rolls
of that era were custom built. It was definitely a left hand drive
car that was sold in the US in 1961.

Thanks
Stu

In 2002-2004 the car was registered to Kevin Cozen at Ca DMV. Prior
to that Robt Procop in July 2001 also in Ca.
Thanks,
Stu
