I'm looking for
1. Companies and institutions involved in video-on-demand technology
and commercial exploitation.
2. A list of features in current and future video-on-demand systems.

For the feature list, the desires of different groups should be taken
into account: The users (video quality, interchange between
devices,...), the providers (sophisticated DRM etc.) and manufacturers
of devices that play the videos (e.g. low hardware and software
requirements).
Maybe there are more parties involved, e.g. government by imposing
certain regulations (securing adult content against being viewed by
minors).

In general, I am more interested in the technical aspects than the
commercial and social aspects as long as there is no direct influence
of the technology. (For example, government regulations on adult
content may well require changes in the video format to provide
additional access restrictions.)
