How many Americans died from industrial accidents (or similar causes) during World War II? I have a figure of 300,000 but what is the source? And what were the chief causes? 300,000 seems very high. Thanks! |

300,000 is number of total "battle deaths" Other Deaths in Service - is estimated to 115,000 http://www.va.gov/pressrel/amwars01.htm http://www.cwc.lsu.edu/cwc/other/stats/warcost.htm <-115,000 http://www.historyguy.com/american_war_casualties.html <-115,000 http://www.k12albemarle.org/MurrayHS/SSHome_Page/USnet/wwiibnts.htm <-100,000 but this page state something else: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1373/is_n5_v45/ai_16889616 <-300,000 i`d rather belief in gov issues - so make it 115,000 industrial accidents |
