Hello,

I would like to know why, or how to check out why the window explorer
keep on search items (also refreshing the tree view) automatically
when I expand "My Computer" on the left hand side tree view?

It is very strange because if I collapse the My Computer node, then it
doesn't auto search items. Also, if I place a window on top of it,
then it doesn't refresh and search. Once I take out the top window,
then it refresh again.

I don't know what is it searching, and I didn't specify anything to
search. It eats up a lot of CPU.

Appreciate if anybody can help me on this.

My pc is running XP SP2. Updated with latest fixes.

thks, wayne

Hi Wayne,

I would try System File Checker (sfc).

How to use scannow sfc...:

It also wouldn't hurt to run HouseCall, a very thorough online virus scan.

HouseCall:

and Ad-aware too.

Adaware:

Good luck,
