The answer to this will depend on a number of things, including the
writer of the comic-- not to mention the fact that Supes's strength
has varied throughout his career.

If you want to see Supes and Captain Marvel go at it, check out DC's
Kingdom Come.  Captain Marvel gives Superman a bit of a beating here,
as Superman is apparently vulnerable to magic.  Note that this is not
a demonstrating of sheer muscular strength.

Another comparison point might be the DC Heroes role-playing game,
which gives Superman a strength rating of 25 while Captain Marvel is
rated at a 20.  I'd have to dig out my old books to see what that
translates to as far as lifting goes, but it does list Supes as being
significantly stronger than Captain Marvel (especially because DCH
uses an exponentional scale to raise the strength).
