Why is football the most popular sport in Ecuador?

As a brazilian and latino I can answer this question.Soccer is a South
America passion. Many people can play soccer and benefit from it.
Soccer is very fun and a great recreational sport.It's cheap to play
it, you just need a soccer ball and 2 sticks that would be the
goal.Since Ecuador is a Third World country like Brazil, we have a lot
of poor citzens who dont have money to afford a sport like baseball or
american football wich needs a lot of expensive equipment.Also the the
rules are very easy to learn helping the sport be more popular because
is easy to teach a friend. Here we see kids playing in street corners,
you even can play alone.
