Hi again iguazu-ga,

Below is the translation of the passage. The letter discusses some
aspects of Vietnamese pronouns. If you'd like to learn about
Vietnamese pronouns, you can read a short passage about it at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnamese_language#Pronouns.

=================================Translation begins=========================
Thank you for wishing me a happy new year. I also would like to "Chúc
m?ng n?m m?i" [wish a happy new year] and that you "???c v?n s? nh? ư"
[get all that you desire]. Greetings depend on the situation,
iguazu-ga. If you consider me a friend then when you see me you can
use the following greetings: "chào Mai" [Hello Mai], "chào Hi?n Mai"
[Hello Hi?n Mai], "chào b?n Mai" [Hello Mai, my friend]. They're all
proper, and also show familiarity. If you consider me an older sister
then when you see me you can greet with "chào ch? Hi?n Mai" [Hello
older sister Hi?n Mai] because "ch?" is used for older people. When
do yo uplan to visit Vietnam? When I meet you I will explain more
about each Vietnamese word so that you can understand better. For now
if you need anything, just ask me and I will answer them one by one so
that you can learn, OK? Again, I wish you health and always encounter
luck in life. Remember to write me regularly.
