Can a regular heptagon be constructed using the flower of life or Matatron's Cube? Is there a 3 dimensional expersion of the hepatagon and what is it called? For example: the octahedron can be drawn two dimensionally and still be "snapped" into view as a octahedron. | |

A regular heptagon cannot be constructed with "ruler and compass" operations while the Metatron's Cube (essentially, a hexagonal packing of circles) can. Construction of a regular heptagon "from" Metatron's Cube would therefore introduce some "nonstandard" operation of some kind. I'm not sure what you might have in mind, nor am I familiar with the word "expersion". Perhaps "expression" is meant? I'd be happy to post a link or two to sites that explain what regular polygons can be constructed with ruler and compass; it's a problem whose solution is usually attributed to Gauss. regards, mathtalk-ga |
