I want to get articles or related materials about German people who lived in Japan in WW2. I read a book which was translated into Japanese(ISBN:4087202038) original ISBN:3891296398) about evidence of those people. I felt in it and become to know the detail. Then I will write a term paper on this topic anytime soon. But there was no reference list in this book and I have no time to ask for publisher or authors. Please tell me if you find relevant documents. |

Would you like to find "articles or related materials" in English only? Would you accept sources in German? The German edition of the book you mentioned has a bibliography and three indexes. |

Thanks for comment. In particular, if original describe a reference list, I want know it. (I read a Japanese book, but it was different from original, editor said). And I search similar project, similar books, or article that deal with those German. This book(Japanese Edition) present some interesting topic, but it is not enough to treat as a report's material. So I want more information. In addition, when I use "Google Scholar", "ScienceDirect" and all that, what keywords do I chose the best? I can accept English, Japanese, and very little German (I can use machine translation!). You say original containd the bibliography, how much inclued English source? |

The book covers the period 1923 - 1947. In your question, however, you are referring to the years 1939 - 1945 only. Are you, therefore, mainly interested in Germans involved in politics such as embassy staff or Richard Sorge? Or is the topic of your term paper not necessarily restricted to politics during the war? Which keywords to choose best would depend on the topic of your research. Approx. 100 titles are mentioned in the bibliography (mostly in German, 2 in Japanese and approx. 19 in English). However, not all of these publications in English are about 1939 - 1945. Please let me know if you need the publications referring to the war period only. |

The German edition of this book does not include a reference list, but a selected bibliography. The published accounts of 23 people (teachers, students, merchants, embassy staff etc.) are based on interviews concerning their daily life in Japan before and during the war. The German title refers to 1923 as being the year the first of the 23 interviewed arrived in Japan and 1947 being the year of their repatriation. |

The library of the OAG in Tokyo http://www.oag.jp/UeberDieOAG/home_jp.html should have some publications covering the topic of your research: http://www.oag.jp/Bibliothek/Katalog/home_jp.html |
