Need simple way to share to windows XP machine

I need a very simple way to move files back and forth from one windows
XP machine. It need to be somle enough for my grandmother to use, for
someone who has no computer skills.

Windos peer to peer networking is way to complicated for her. Is ther
some othe rwy or shareware app that will be ver easy to hook the two
together. They are noth on the same wireless network on the same
wires acces point. I?m sure they are not on static IPs, but rather
DHCP, so some something that autorecognises NetBIOS names or can deal
with DHCP changing IP numbers will be required.

Need something right away,

thanx in advnce

How about Floppy Disks or CD's? It doesn't get any easier than using
RecordNow! to burn a CD (or dragging files to a floppy) and walkng
across the room...

Can she drag and drop?

Besides the obvious solution, you can map the drive, it will show up
in Windows Explore (file structure). Would you like me to find SIMPLE
instructions for that?

yes, if you can find simple instructions for file sharing , thatwill work.

Is she going to do it herself, or can you set it up for her?

And how about the floppies and CD's idea? That really is the easiest.
It's easier to teach someone that is inexperienced how to save a file
to floppy or burn a CD then it is to set up drive mapping. Even easy
instructions will be difficult for her.

I won't be teaching her. She does have basic windows understanding,
so I?m sure the instruction will be fine. I'll get involved if they
aren't working. She doesn't have a CD burner, and floppies are too
small. She will be coping file regularly anyway, so a network link is
best. I do need the direction asap though!

Please let me know if you need any other help.

There are two simple options.
1)Use USB Flash Drives. (Very easy to use, 32/64 MB drives cost around 20 dollars)
2) Share and map the drives. (Very easy to use after one time setup.)
-------------
1)Use USB Flash Drives:
CDs are complicated to burn.
Floppies have too little memory and get damaged easily.
Zip disks are bigger than floppies and as easy to use, but they are
getting obsolete and you will need special Zip Drives.

On Windows XP, flash drives are plug and play, no installation is
required and the drive shows up as another Disk in Windows Explorer.

-------------
2) Share and map the drives
If you do this one time setup, your mother will be able to access the
other computer's directories like any drive on the local computer.

Say from Computer Y you want to access the directory C:\mom located on computer X.
step 1) On computer X, open Windows Explorer and create a Share for C:\mom.

step 2) On computer Y, open Windows Explorer and Map a drive to folder
you Shared in step 1)

you can use a USB pen drive (now a days it is available upto 10GB i
guess). This is faster , re-usable, cost effective.u can just it like
a floppy.
i think this will definately solve ur problem.let me know once done.
