Is there anyway to get an estimte for 2003? it just needs to be in a
ballpark for a trend estimation map, are the numbers increasing in the
US from 2002 or slight decrese?

Hello morefieldphoto-ga,

According to UNAIDS, the following data is the estimated number of
AIDS-related deaths in the US:

2003: 14,000 (low/high estimate: 6,900-23,000)
http://www.unaids.org/html/pub/Global-Reports/Bangkok/Table_countryestimates_2004_en_xls.xls

2004: 16,000 (low/high estimate: 8,400-25,000)

The main UNAIDS page for statistics on the disease is here:

Since 2004 is not over yet, and since it takes some time before such
statistical data is published, this question in my opinion can't be
answered yet.
