Examples of turning lemon into lemonade in legal disputes

I am trying to find examples of how people or companies in legal
disputes have turned lemon into lemonade -- how they turned something
that looked very bad for them into something that became very helpful
for them.

Specifically, I would like to find examples of how people or
companies (1) had a legal dispute over a contract, lease, etc., _or_
(2) were involved in a law suit, _or_ (3) had a controversy with a
city, state or federal governmental agency involving a law or
regulation or rule and were able to use to their advantage something
that looked like it would be devastating for them.

I would __also__ like to find articles in either law periodicals or
general periodicals including newspapers that give examples of how
people or companies were able to turn what looked bad into something
that was very good for them.

Please ask for clarification if you have any questions.

Unfortunatly, I don't have time to take this question, but I know of
one example. Southwest Airlines v. Stevens. It's a hoot. There was an
Arm Wrestling match to determine who could use an Advertising slogan.

I think the biggest example of this would have to Johnson & Johnson
and the whole laced Tylenol thing in the 80's. You can read about it

Maybe the Chrysler bankruptcy of the early 80's: highly contentious of
a company that "shouldn't survive" but through tenacity and grit did
survive to become profitable and leading edge in certain design and
engineering factors?
