Are there any studies out there on the number of retail stores in the
United States? Or more specifically, chain stores? I'm trying to
understand whether there is a "retail glut" or "store glut" in the
U.S. and whether the closing of stores (e.g., Kmart closing hundreds
of stores in bankruptcy) has become an identifiable trend.
