Please help me find links to photos of the following semiprecious stones:

lapis lazuli
malachite
red jasper
amethyst
topaz

I am looking for images that meet the following conditions:

1. Downloadable.

2. Not under copyright protection.

3. Stones polished, rather than rough, but preferably not cut as if
for jewelry; if cut, at least not carved into some regular shape or
representational image. Definitely not mounted or set in some other
material; stones only.

4. Image large enough to show the characteristics of the stone well
and not just be a colored blob.

In addition, the following are preferences:

1. Single stones--one clear sample of each variety. (An image with
several stones is ok as long as I can isolate one good specimen.)

2. Complimentary or compatible presentation--for example, all on
white or light-colored background or else all on black background, all
on about the same scale, all specimens in roughly the same state--not,
for example, one faceted and one carved into the shape of a little
animal and one just a polished pebble. I can size them if necessary
and change backgrounds if the backgrounds are solid colors, but I want
the images to look good together, as if they belonged in the same
group.

These are for illustrative purposes, and I want to be able to use them
without copyright violation.

Thank you,
Archae0pteryx

Just right, tlspiegel, and thanks!

Try your local new-age bookstore and you might find at least some. A
chunk of beautiful malachite is not too expensive.

Thanks for your comment, clint34. But those are professional images
for sale for commercial purposes. They are not free for download.
And they've all had the corner cut out of themn to discourage
unauthorized use. Besides, they've been worked for jewelry, and
there's no malachite or red jasper.
