Question ID: 438691
I am trying to assist 2 tetraplegic friends in finding adapted vacation
accomodation for an extended stay in California for 4-12 weeks planned
for Q2 2005. They are one male one female, age late 20's and early
30's, and will be visiting from the UK. Location-wise teh middle of
the state would be ideal, but anywhere between Orange County and San
Fransisco would be considered.

The accomodation needs to be completely adapted for wheelchair access
and tetraplegic living,
including wide doorways, bathrooms, lifts, flat floors, parking access
for Chrysler Voyager type vehicle. They will bring thier own 24 hour
care staff, who will
need their own rooms, and will ideally need some accomodation for
visitors as well.

They will also need to rent an adapted vehicle such as the Chrysler
Voyager or perhaps a larger adapted RV for touring the State.

Ideally the accomodation would comprise a deck with views, and
possibly a suitably accessible pool within the accomodation.

So I am looking either for 1) advice on how to proceed, or 2) contacts
at agencies who could assist or provide these services, or 3) specific
hotels,
apartment complexes that would be suitable.

Ideally they are looking for private accomodation rather than hotels
but all things will be considered.

I am willing to pay more for further research and assistance once I
get some help to get started this. I have been unsuccessful so far in
using the general search engines to find out about this.

Thanks!
