Here's a mystery. There is a very often used quote: "Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." by someone called Norman MacEwan (sometimes spelled MacEwen). I cannot figure out who this guy is/was. Looking for basic biographical info. My theory is that it's a gradual bastardization, over time, of someone else's name. The quote is often attributed to Churchill and M.L. King, but most often to our mysterious friend Norman. | |
