Need to convert decimal format for lat/lon's into degrees, minutes and
seconds.  That is, I have latitudes like 37.138138  and longitude like
-80.544823.  I'd like them in a dd:mm:ss format.

Hallo glscott!

I think you are looking for a site like "Latitude, Longitude Format
Conversion" ( http://www.geology.enr.state.nc.us/gis/latlon.html ).
The Java applet there can convert from Decimal Degrees to Degrees,
Minutes, and Seconds and the other way around.

If you are after the mathematical equations to allow you to implement
this yourself as opposed to using a Java applet embedded in a web
page, you will find an explanation of the necessary algorithms at
