Dear Bryan, In Spain, the Civil Register (Registro Civil) upon request issues death certificates (certificado de defunción) for individuals who died there. In this case, the local Civil Register of Malaga is the competent agency (provided that the the deceased is not only buried in Malaga, but also died there, which is very probable). You can request the certificate by sending a letter to the Civil Register, clearly indicating the name and postal address to which the certificate is to be sent, including the following data in the request: - Name, surnames and National Identification Card of the person requesting the certificate. - Name and surnames of the deceased, and the date and location of death. Next, indicate the type of certificate you would like to receive: - Literal - Extract - Ordinary or bilingual. - International or multilingual. - Negative Finally, provide a contact telephone number where you can be reached to clarify any of the data. This is the address of the Civil Register in Malaga: Registro Civil Exclusivo de Málaga C/ Manuel Tomás De Heredia, 18 29071 Málaga Spain -- Phone: +34-951037904 Fax: +34-951037919 I hope that this will be helpful! Many thanks, Scriptor. No success as yet but I shall now pursue Leli's comment. Incidentally I don't support 'The Albion' ... I support 'Latics - Oldham Athletic. (I was born & bred in Oldham.) All the Best Bryan |

Hi Leli It's great to hear from you again and many thanks for your comment. I simply do not know in which cemetary 'my person' is buried. My person was not British-born nor of the Anglican faith. He/she was naturalised as British but later this was stripped away after he/she was found guilty of a criminal offence. But very many thanks, I will now check out your lead. All the Best Bryan |
