I would like to refinish my kitchen cabinets. They are currently maple
wood color and I would like to get them to a very dark chocolate
color. I don't want to paint them since I want hints of the wood grain
to show through. I would like them to look like

distressed look. Please provide me step-by-step instructions as detail
as possible since I'm new to staining. Please include tools used and
brand names. I would like the simplest and fastest solution.

You can find books that will tell you how to do this at just about any
hardware store. You will likely need to strip off the old finish using
chemicals, sand and then stain your cabinets. It will be quit a bit of
work. You might want to consider simply buying new doors in the color
you desire. Here is some general info:

Thanks peachfish for the comment. However, I can never get it as dark
as I wanted. I was hoping to find someone that is an expert in
refinishing wood to help me out.
