I would like to know (Chapter and Verse please, if possible) the law
in Switzerland that states a Swiss citizen must report to the
authorities when a visitor to their home stays more than a few weeks. I
know there is a law regarding this. But I need to have the precise
wording. Thanks.

This could depend on the cantonal laws
http://www.admin.ch/ch/e/schweiz/kantone/index.html

Which canton are you referring to?

I would prefer an English translation. But law in the original is
fine. I can get it translated. THanks.

The precise wording

in German:
"Wer einen Ausländer ohne Entgelt beherbergt, untersteht dieser
Meldepflicht erst, wenn er dem Ausländer länger als einen Monat
Unterkunft gewährt; vorbehalten bleiben strengere kantonale
Vorschriften":
http://www.admin.ch/ch/d/sr/142_20/a2.html

in French:
"S?il le loge gratuitement, il n?est tenu de le déclarer qu?après une
résidence d?un mois; sont réservées les prescriptions cantonales plus
sévères":
http://www.admin.ch/ch/f/rs/142_20/a2.html

in Italian:
"Qualora gli dia l?alloggio gratuitamente, è tenuto alla notificazione
solo se lo straniero si trattiene presso di lui più d?un mese; restano
riservate le disposizioni più rigorose che i Cantoni stimassero di
dover emanare a questo riguardo":
http://www.admin.ch/ch/i/rs/142_20/a2.html

"You will find the detailed residence regulations in our three
national languages German, French and Italian":
http://www.imes.admin.ch/aufenthalt/aufenthaltsvorschriften/index_e.asp

http://www.imes.admin.ch/rechtsgrundlagen/weisungen_gruen/aufenthaltsregelung/31_allgemeines_d.asp#313
http://www.imes.admin.ch/rechtsgrundlagen/weisungen_gruen/aufenthaltsregelung/31_allgemeines_f.asp#313
http://www.imes.admin.ch/rechtsgrundlagen/weisungen_gruen/aufenthaltsregelung/31_allgemeines_i.asp#313

i.e. a Swiss cititzen must report to the authorities when a visitor
who is invited (i.e. who is not asked to pay) stays longer than a
month. Cantons can decide to shorten this period.

Apparently, the webpages of the "Migratiosamt" of Canton Zurich
http://www.migrationsamt.zh.ch/internet/ds/ma/de/home.html

refer only to the federal laws as mentioned above (not to specific
laws of Canton Zurich):

"Anmeldung"
http://www.migrationsamt.zh.ch/content/internet/ds/ma/de/RedirectEinreise/einreise.html

"Rechtsgrundlagen / Allgemeine Informationen":

Bryan, thank you!

Mikomoro, apparently not all of the pages are available in Rumantsch:
"Nossa purschida d?infurmaziun en rumantsch è pli pitschna ch?en las
trais linguas uffizialas tudestg, franzos e talian. Perquai che nus na
vulessan tuttina betg privar Vus da documents interessants As renviain

taliana, sch?ils texts rumantschs mancan":
