Who are the largest U.S. consumer hardware companies (ranked by sales dollars)
Any of last 2 years are fine. Please include computer companies,
printers, fax, scanners, storage, displays, copiers, Networking,
cellphones, games) Ok to include some intertantional companies if
they sell a lot in the US Please exlude enterprise hardware companies
if possible (if they dont have a big consumer base) For instance you
could Exclude EMC, but include LG electronics. |

bertamus2k-ga,
I don't have an answer for you yet, but in the course of my research,
I came across a pretty intriguing document that I thought you'd like
to see:
http://globalconnect.ucsd.edu/taipei/documents/EastAsianICT.pdf
East Asian Information and Communications Technology Industries
Even though the focus here is Asia, the report looks at who makes what
in terms of the consumer hardware, and provides a pretty detailed look
at the interconnection of companies around the world.
Please have a look at it, and let me know if it is of value to you.
If it is, perhaps you can let me know what additional information you
would need to make for a complete answer to your question.
Thanks,
pafalafa-ga

Interesting Document...but I am really looking at if from the who is
the consumer in The US going to contact when they have a question
standpoint....
Soooo Even just the 200 largest publicly traded hardware vendors with
this list might do it (again I will suptract the b 2 b vendors)
The 2 together would do it
Thanks for your help!

Hello again.
I think I can answer this similarly to how I answered your software
question, using the ranking information at the shopping.com site.
However, there are two points to make.
First, I can rank within categories, but not across categories. That
is, I can tell you the Top PC manufacturers, and the Top printer
manufacturers, but I can't tell you if the #10 PC company is larger or
smaller than the #10 printer company.
Secondly, there is bound to be repitition in the lists, given that
some PC companies also make printers, faxes, phones, and so on.
Let me know what you think...here are the Top 25 companies from a few lists.
