First you need some lychees. Canned ones are actually better, because
youre going to need some lychee juice. Otherwise, you will have to
obtain the juice separately or extract it out of the fresh lychees.
There are several variants described
Mojo10 has: 2 oz vodka, 1 oz lychee juice. Mix together and add one
drop of crème de cassis. Garnish with a whole lychee. Mojo10
suggests gin as an alternative to vodka, but no one else seems to do
so. The crème de cassis also seems to be an extra that is not usually
added. http://www.mojo10.com/viewContent.asp?contentID=830 Here is a
picture from another site of the cocktail made with crème de cassis:

The London UK Just Oriental restaurant lists the ingredients as:
Fresh Lychees muddled with Smirnoff Blue Vodka and Soho lychee
liqueur http://www.juststjames.com/jowine_n.htm
.
Both the above sites mention that Lychee Martini was born at the
Buddha Bar in Paris. Decanter.com implies it has the recipe from
Xavier Reynaud at the Buddha Bar. This is actually the simplest of
all:
50ml (2fl oz) vodka, 2 tsp lychee juice. Shake together in a cocktail
shaker with some ice cubes. Strain into a chilled Martini glass.

Here is what one blogger has to say about the result: The striking
purity of straight vodka, cut with the satin sweetness of the lychee
is a potent combination, which both disguises the onset of rapid
intoxication, and also happily assist one along the pursuit of
pleasure. http://radio.weblogs.com/0108149/
But if you want to explore further, here are yet more variants:
3 oz. Soju Vodka, 2 oz. Lychee Liqueur, splash of grapefruit, garnish
with peeled lychee nut (ie a dried lychee)

Large measure of Absolut vodka, Lychee purée, Lychee liqueur, dash of
vanilla sugar, served in a frozen cocktail glass.
