Here is my search strategy (if interested):
After searching for "best home builders , and (home builders ranking),
I came upon the site of a Centex, which stated it was a company that
"ranks among the top five on the BUILDER 100 list of America?s largest
home builders".
Thus I went on searching for the BUILDER 100 list itself.
You could easily find it online, unfortunately not directly accessible
from its publisher.
Therefore I visited the National Association of home builders
(http://www.nahb.org), where the following data is provided:
A FAQ there (http://www.nahb.org/generic.aspx?genericContentID=14967#Top_100) is:
Who are the top builders and remodelers in the U.S. and in selected cities?
And the answer will lead you to what you want:
... Builder Magazine?s Builder 100 can be found at
http://www.builderonline.com/. Go to the "News and Trends" section,
and then click on "Builder 100/Big Builders." This will give you
access to the entire Builder 100 list, as well as the top 50 Local
Leaders and the Next 100.
There you will find all the relevant data that you seek, including:
RANK, COMPANY STATUS, CEO, ADDRESS, WEB SITE, 2004 U.S. Closings (vs.
'03), Gross Revenue* (vs. '03), What they Built in the U.S. (in units)
and REGION covered :)
