Question ID: 439892
I want to know, when one installs Verizon internet access (the MSN co
branded product) on a Windows computer, in the US:

1. To what does it set the homepage on Internet Explorer?
2. Does it install any toolbars?
3. What icons/links does it add on the desktop?
4. What links does it add to the start menu?
5. What links does it add to the Taskbar?
6. What favorites/links does it prepopulate?
7. Does it come with any browsers other than Internet Explorer (eg
Netscape, Firefox, an AOL-style client)
8. Does it install anything else?

Does it ask the user whether he wishes to set these, or does it just
go ahead and set them?

Thank you.

Dear webuserid,

I spoke to Adrian in Technical Support, phone number 877-483-5898, at
Verizon. I made it clear that I was talking about Verizon Online with
MSN. He gave me the following answers.

1. To what does it set the homepage on Internet Explorer?

It does not change the home page.

2. Does it install any toolbars?

It installs the MSN toolbar.

3. What icons/links does it add on the desktop?

It adds the MSN butterfly and a Support Center shortcut.

4. What links does it add to the start menu?

It does not add links to the start menu.

5. What links does it add to the Taskbar?

It does not add links to the Taskbar.

6. What favorites/links does it prepopulate?

It does not make changes to the Bookmarks folder.

7. Does it come with any browsers other than Internet Explorer (eg
Netscape, Firefox, an AOL-style client)

No additional browsers are included.

8. Does it install anything else?

Apart from the Internet access functionality, it does not install anything else.
