I need to do some C programming on my Mac OSX, 10.4.4 and I'm looking for a user friendly interface and debugging tool to write my programs with, and that will also compile them. Can you tell me of a free download for Mac? I've looked on google already, so I'm looking for advice from someone with experience in this matter and who can tell me about the best that's out there. |

It's been a long time since I compiled C code on a Mac. But my impression is that Mac OSX comes bundled with XCode 2.0 (it may be 2.2 by now). The GCC compilers are definitely free, and I think the IDE stuff is bundled with the operating system, but I'm not a guru. Check out here: [Xcode 2.0] http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/xcode/ best wishes, mathtalk-ga |

Looks like it's a free download here, although you need to register: http://developer.apple.com/tools/xcode/index.html --mt |

First, you need an ADC account. Then, you can login at http://developer.apple.com, where you can download the latest XCode. XCode has a nice GDB GUI interface. |
