Dear oopiedoopie-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question. About 1961 the school buildings began undergoing what would
eventually be substantial alteration.

It might not be very familiar to you anymore, but the old German
Township High School campus located at 113 College Ave. in
McClellandtown is now the home of Albert Gallatin North Middle School.

To begin your search for yearbooks I recommend you contact the local
libraries in Fayette County. Many libraries archive area school
yearbooks as a general practice. Incidentally, the German-Masontown
Public Library also acts as the school library for the Albert Gallatin
School District (the old German Township School District) so this is
probably an excellent place to start.

Alternatively I recommend you attempt to contact fellow alumni through
one of the school reunion sites and online alumni organizations. It is
not uncommon for people who frequent these types of bulletin boards to
share their yearbooks and photos with others.:

Or http://www.classmates.com/s.tf/Pennsylvania/McClellandtown/

Finally, I recommend you place a ?yearbook(s) wanted? ad in the local
Herald Standard newspaper.

HERALD STANDARD ONLINE
http://www.zwire.com/site/news.asp?brd=2280&pag=460&dept_id=468616

Why the Herald Standard, you might ask.? Well, last year there was an
article that ran in this newspaper alerting the German Township Class
of 1960 that there was an upcoming reunion. Obviously we can assume
that many former students of German Township School still read this
paper, or the ad wouldn?t have been posted there. Based on that
logical conclusion I believe this newspaper could potentially prove to
be a valuable source in your search for local yearbooks.

I'm not sure if this will help, but:

Evidently the school must be closed as it is referred to as "the
former German Township High School" on various web sites.

As to more information and yearbooks, I'd try contacting a graduate
from the school.

There was a recent reunion from the class of 1960:

http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=14714892&BRD=2280&PAG=461&dept_id=469024&rfi=6

Perhaps if you access the rest of the article you can find one of the
reunion organizers.

Otherwise, you could try classmates.com and see if you could contact
someone that way.

I hope this is some help.

Have a good day.

I saw you were looking for a yearbook from German TownShip High School
in McClellandtown Pennsylvania. They are hard to find, but don't lose
hope. I run a small website with people in the same situation (they
can't find their yearbook). If you would like you can post a free ad
on my site and I will list it with other yearbook ads from
Pennsylvania. I also offer resources that will help you find your
yearbook and have the result emailed to you when it is found. In the
future I plan to add more resources to help find your yearbook.
