A system requirement will be needed due to the changing & updating of
current processes. I am need of information regarding the following:

Desktop Database Recommendation
Dr. "Tooth" runs a small dental clinic in town. He has about 250
patients and employs one receptionist and two dental hygienists.
Currently the office data is contained in paper files. Many mistakes
have occurred in billing and scheduling. To add to this, the only
other dentist in town Dr. "Molar" will be retiring soon and he has a
patient base of 300. Dr. "Tooth" predicts his patient load will
increase.

Due to these factors Dr. "Tooth" has made the decision to store his
clinic information electronically. He has done some research but
requires your assistance in choosing a database to handle this
information. Dr. "Tooth" is currently looking at the desktop
databases
? Paradox
- Access and
- FoxPro.

He requires a recommendation based on the following criteria:
?	Cost (he is willing to pay more for a better database)
?	User-friendly (All employees in the office have Windows 2000 experience)
?	Web Solution Offering (In the future the clinic wants to go online)
?	Users (Dr. "Tooth" will hire another receptionist so he needs the
system to support at least 2 concurrent users)
?	Security (Patient information is confidential)

Evaluate the databases and make a recommendation (in your opinion)
based on the information given...

As well...

Client/Server Database Recommendation
Mr. "Boeing" is the owner of the FastFlight Airline Company.
FastFlight Airlines began as a small carrier company operated in the
state of Maine. The company has now expanded to three northeastern
states. They currently have a passenger reservation system that
operates on an Access database. Business is booming and the desktop
database no longer supports the needs of the company. Mr. Boeing is
considering moving to a large client/server database. He has been
contacted by
- Oracle
- Microsoft (SQL Server) and
- IBM (DB2).

Mr. "Boeing" is overwhelmed by all the technical jargon and needs you
to make a recommendation. He has developed these criteria to help
make a decision:

?	Cost (He is willing to make a substantial investment for the right database)
?	Scalability
?	Specialized training and knowledge (To install and maintain)
?	End User Usability (How easy to use are the interfaces to the database?)

Evaluate the databases and make a recommendation (in your opinion)
based on the information given by Mr. "Boeing"...

...explain how the databases performed for each criteria and their rating.
...recommendation based on the best fit for the criteria.
...supporting information i.e. Web Page links (if possible), software
specification etc.
