How can I clear the drop down menu under the search window -- I am working on a MAC with Safari and I do not see any Google Toolbar that has a function to clear search history. I can clear the history in Safari, but that does not clear the history in the drop down search menu...nor does removing the Google cookies ... help please... |

This might be of interest: "The new 'Reset Safari' feature lets users erase browsing history, empty the browser cache, clear the Downloads window and remove cookies. It can also be used to clear Google search queries and remove any saved names and passwords or other AutoFill text." http://siliconvalley.internet.com/news/article.php/2190071 |

if you have google toolbar then you should have the clear History option, on the far right side with the Google Logo that has a drop down box. Prior to google tool bar, I would erase them individually. I would just type in a character, as "a" and all the "a" related topics would show up, then I would move my mouse to the first result and hit delete button. Once you are in the drop down dox of the search requests, you can just use the delete button to delete them... try it :) Not offical researcher so.... |

If you have google toolbar, go to options, and click the Drop Down Search History. That should put the drop down option on the far LEFT of the GOOGLE name, that includes the clear search history. Hope that works. Eric www.blackbeltdomain.com |

I have the answer: 1. Open Safari's preferences by going to the "Safari" menu at the left of the menubar, and then choosing "preferences" from the drop-down menu. 2. When the preferences window appears, choose the button at the top of the window that says "AutoFill." 3. If you want to disable AutoFill for all web forms (including Google), then all you have to do is deselect the checkbox next to "Other Forms." But if you want to disable AutoFill for Google's website only, then click the "Edit" button next to "Other forms," and find the entry ".google.com" in the list of website addresses that appears. Select that entry and click the "remove" button. This will erase all previous AutoFill data currently stored for the Google website, but it will not prevent new AutoFill data from being created. The only way to do that is by removing the checkbox next to "Other forms." |
