Question ID: 440007
I am in the process of starting a company formation business and as
part of it's services offerings, I would like to start offering to
resell domain names and hosting services.
I am aware the GoDaddy offers reller packages for under ?200 with
domains offered for $7 with that package but then iPower
(http://www.ipower.com) offers domain registrations for $2.95.

I would like a listing of 10 of the cheapest reputable domain name
(with a large number of registrations options available i.e. .com,
.bix, .org etc) hosting (for eCommerce sites with support for PHP etc)
reseller packages that are available and some advice on which I should
choose to go with and the pitfals to avoid when choosing a cheap
reseller package.

Good point thinkcap, thanks for your comment. After my initial post
dharmendar, it seems your domain name pricing is way too expensive...
why would I go with you when I can obtain them for $2.95 from yahoo or
iPower or even GoDaddy offers reseller packages for $7!!

iPower has the best price out there. Yahoo does have a new offering
for the same price as iPower. Problem with these websites is they keep
churning new deals every month...

Watch out that the Yahoo offer is for new sign up. So once you sign up
the offer is not available.
For iPower, it is a limited time offer and limited to 100 domains per
user. Also it is for new domain registration not renewal.

To run a reseller business you will need bona-fide domain registrar so
that you can handle the full range of service and not go for low cost
offers.

The lowest domain cost I had seen is $6.45 from Directi.com. This is
after you achieve a certain target. It is likely you can negotiate a
good price with other registrars if you achieve a respectable volume.

Directi recently launched a new service which let one run a reseller
service practically hands-off. You can try it for free.

Just to clarify that I am a Directi reseller. I am rather upset that
during the recent upgrade, their price had increased substantially.
But so far I find they offer a range of service that is very useful.

I had not tried other services to comment.

Hope this helps.
