What TV show is associated with the line "be safe out there?" I know
that it was an older TV show, but need to know the name. An adequate
answer would include both the name of the show and the context of the
line (i.e., was it usually the sign off, did one particular character
use it, etc.). Feel free to let me know if any additional clarification is needed.

Dear needsomeinfo-ga;

The 1980?s made-for-television police drama HILL STREET BLUES was the
show known for the regular line, ?Let?s be careful out there?.

As is common in most police departments, the officers of Hill Street
attended a squad meeting just prior to taking over the shift. The show
regularly began at this briefing where their gruff, no-nonsense
supervisor, Sgt. Phil Esterhaus (Michael Conrad) would give them their
daily instruction. He would dismiss the meeting by telling them some
variation of ?let?s be safe out there?. What he actually said in some
episodes is, ?Let?s be careful out there? and in others he?s say the
much more well known phrase, ?"All right, let's roll... Hey... Let's
be careful out there."
