Taro's Mupirocin ointment is a prescription antibiotic product used
for the topical treatment of impetigo, a bacterial skin infection
characterized by pus-filled blisters that may itch. The condition is
most common in children and is contagious.
Mupirocin ointment products have annual U.S. sales of about $77 million.
Taro shares rose 42 cents to $26.46 on the Nasdaq, while Glaxo's
American depositary shares were up 82 cents at $50.58 on the New York
Stock Exchange."
