Probono has given you the CORRECT answer. Surely that is better than a lot of waffle? But, of course, if you have to deliver an answer simply to satisfy your teachers then it would be necessary to know their standpoint. For British teachers, the answer would be British. For American teachers, the answer would be American. If you want to show how smart you are, give all three answers and ask the teacher to choose. |

In order to make this less subjectiuve, I think you need to specify a way to measure democracy. How about: Which system of government gives their citizens greater power to influnce government policy, the British or the American? |

Well, it goes without saying that you should not be using Google Answers to try and but a paper that you will present as your own. That said, probonopublico and mikomoro's answers would not sufice. You need to show that both are deeply flawed but America is by far the more democratic 1) Monarchy 2) "Elective Dictatorship" in Britain (Lord Hailsham) 3)Separation of powers absent in britain There's three supporting examples, now all you have to do is gte up off your arse and do a little reading. |

Start by defining 'Democracy' Lord Bryce's definition is a good jumping off point: 'Government in which the will of the majority of the qualified electorate rules through the medium of the ballot box' Once you have reduced that to a pile of meaningless rubble, the question of 'more democratic' becomes irrelevant. I totally agree with Probono's comment. |

I do not disagree with porbonos answer but I was looking for supporting facts to the answer I had given. which is the presidential system. I had read my text and had a few hard sources. but was mainly looking for maybe clarification on my answer to make sure that I was not wrong. This was not a quick fix. this was asking maybe someone more informed the answer. |
