Question ID: 440384
Is there an FTP client software with English interface, but capable of
reading/displaying Japanese (2-byte) file names?
I have looked at CuteFTP, Filezilla and a few others, but they show
??? in place of Japanese characters.
I know there are plenty of Japanese FTP client, but I want the
interface to be in English.

There is no answer at this time.

Thank you for the comment/suggestion, hardtofindbooks-ga. I tried
that, but also get ??? instead of Japanese file names. I tried
changing font and scripting setting, too.

Strange in that it's obviously Japanese software. Something about how
it interacts with my English WinXP, I suppose. It works properly on
Japanese WinXP.

Hi srbh1987

Have you tried going to Control Panel > Region & Language Options >
Advanced and changing the Language for non-unicode applications to
Japanese.
That might work but you will have to reboot and probably change it
back again when you are finished using the program if it does work.

Thank you again, hardtofindbooks.
I tried it, but did not work, strangely.
