I recently purchased an e-Book which uses a page turning feature which
makes it look and feel like a real book.  I also downloaded Zinio
Reader and was able to download some magazines which work the same
way.  I would like to produce my own magazine or book with this page
turning feature, and in addition I would like to be able to "click" on
still photos in the book and have them play an AVI or FLASH etc. video
segment.  Zoom and other "fancy" features would also be desireable. 
Is there a production software that will allow me to have all these
feature sets ? If there are several to choose from, which is most user
friendly, and which gives the best value for the cost?

You can do this with Macromedia Flash.
Either you can author them within the interface of flash or buy
extensions that allow you to accomplish your requirements.
