Does a LLC need to publish the articles of organization on different
papers once the company is registered into the Department of State? If
I go to the official website of the NYS Department of State, I don't
see anything that indicates so. Nevertheless, I've been receiving
letters of different companies offering that service to me. In these
commercial letters they do affirm that to publish the articles is
stricltly needed. Is this some sort of scam?

Ralphdance-ga,

Every state is a bit different, but in general, articles of
organization only need to be filed with the Secretary of State, at
which point they generally become public documents. That is, anyone
can request a copy from the Sec of State's office.

However, I've never heard of a requirement to actively publish the
articles (though you most likely have to make sure they are
distributed to all the principles in the LLC itself)!

If you can post some of the actual language used in the letters you're
receiving, perhaps I can check out the details vis a vis the rules in
NY State.
