Hi,
I would like to start a business in Romania (hotels, restaurants,
etc) and I have only one third of the (estimated) money I would need.
Me and my partner already have the land on which the constructions
will be built, we need money for the constructions only.
I live in the US since 2001 but I am a Romanian citizen. Now, the question :
How can I get the rest of the money ? I was wondering about some
sort of VC (Venture Capitalists) money or maybe getting a US bank
interested in that ? I wouldn't like to get a loan for the rest of the
money, I would be more interested in giving up on a percentage of our
company in order to get the rest of the money.
BTW, we would need 150.000-200.000 US$ more. The entire investment
would be around half a million dollars, but the area in which we are
investing has a lot of potential (touristically, economically, etc).
In case somebody is interested, we can also show a viable business
plan.
thank you very much,

Hi PoliticalGuru,
I see you are well informed. Well, we are basically going to get
half of the money from European Union organizations that are investing
in Romania to prepare the infrastructure, business environment, etc so
that we can join EU later in 2007. As I said, the entire investment is
going to be ~half a million US$ and we have ~150.000 US$. We need an
additional 150-200.000 US$ in order to make sure we cover half of the
expenses, the other half being covered by EU (they do sponsor all
sorts of projects in Romania, including motels, etc - this is
considered to increase the touristic potential - and hence the
economical potential - of a region).
Is this what you are talking about ? Getting 50 or 60% of your
investment from the European Union ? Or there are other organizations
willing to invest ?
