I am looking for an exercise equipment rental. I wish to rent a
professional gym grade Precor elliptical trainer (the model with fixed
arms) for 6 months for home use (all of the previously mentioned
specifications are important to me). A complication is that I live in
a one bedroom apt on the ninth floor of an elevator building in
Manhattan NY and so the company would have to service this area and
would have to install the unit (and eventually remove it) as part of
the rental. I am looking to spend about $125-175 per month (I saw an
online site renting one for $150 per month for a 6 month rental but I
believe this company only served Southern CA). Again, please note that
the company has to be able to service a residential customer on the
Upper East Side in Manhattan.

Have you checked with GYM SOURCE in Manhattan?  They rent (and sell)
all kinds of exercise equipment -- short term, long term.  
Celebrities order up treadmills in their hotel rooms from them.  
Whether their prices are right or they have the Precor model you're
looking for is another story.  But they're worth a call and they're on
East 52nd Street.

Thanks very much for the comment. Checked with them and they don't
have Precors. More significantly, they charge $495 at month and $100
for delivery and pickup. Since this is Manhattan I suppose I should
not be surprised. I think that I'm unlikely to find something in my
price range, but your comment helped clarify things quickly. Thanks
