Hi Everyone,
I would like to have some examples of companies who have tried to
follow a successful product with an extension of the product (sort of
like coke bringing out coke with lime etc)
I need examples of companies who have tried to do this and have had
the product fail miserably. One example, which comes to my mind, is
when BIG (you know the disposable pens) released BIG perfume ? which
(of course) failed miserably.
I?m looking for the following information about the case;
1. What product was released?
2. What were the components of the marketing campaign (either links to
the campaign and or a description of the campaign)?
1.
2.
3. I need hard facts proving that the product failed either in the
format of sales figures, research/awareness etc. numbers of the fact
that the product was withdrawn from the market.
4.
5. A link to a place where I could obtain copies of the advertising
campaign would be fantastic ? but just a wish!
Please note that it must be an independent failing, and not due to
things like distribution, too high price etc. but in short term due to
the fact that consumers simply couldn?t link the product extension
with the mother brand.
It is preferable that the case is reasonably well known, and U.S.
based, but all suitable answers will be rewarded.
I am willing to pay US$25 per fully answered brand that is provided in
full, with exceptional answers being tipped well.
Good Luck.
