In around 1989 I read a non-fiction book about the Toronto, Ontario, Canada based real estate developers by the name of Reichmann (sp?). They owned a company called Olympia and York. At the time they were riding a huge wave of success developing and buying office towers in major cities in North America, and diversifying into other-than real estate investments such as natural resource companies. I remember the title of the book to be something like: "They Reached for an Empire". I have tried to locate a copy of this book for 15 years with no success. The book is biographical in nature and an excellent read for those in the real estate business. I very much want to find a copy that I can buy. I have tried ABEBooks and other on-line sites. I have asked book sellers and librarians.... all with no success. Please help me locate a copy. |

Hello. It sounds like you're describing "The Master Builders: How the Reichmanns Reached for an Empire" (1986) by Peter Foster. Used copies at Abebooks.com: http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=foster&y=0&tn=reichmanns+empire&x=0 ------ search strategy: abebooks.com: reichmanns empire I hope this helps. |
