Hi,

I need to find sources for a psychologist or psychotherapist
practising in Barcelona (Spain). The two things I am looking for, ideally, are
1. native English-speaker and 2. some kind of credentials I could find
reassuring.

Some clarification... 

Simply speaking, I am in need of therapy and live in Barcelona but have no
contacts, and donīt know where to start. 

Whereas I am confident I donīt have a mental illness as such, I have a
number of problems I cannot resolve on my own and need help.
Isolation, depression and suicidal thoughts have set in.

Regarding point 1. above: although I can speak Spanish, I think I
would be able to express myself best in English.

And about point 2., I apologise for being vague. Since I have not had
therapy before, I have no idea what makes a
"good/professional/reliable" therapist. I am aware that ultimately the
judgement is mine to make, but I need a reliable starting point.

psychologists in Barcelona, I nevertheless think that I can provide
you valuable assistance:

A significant number of Barcelona-based psychologists and
psychotherapists who either come from English-speaking countries or
have studied at universities in such countries are organized in the
Barcelona Network of English Speaking Therapists (NEST). On their
website, NEST lists the medical backgrounds of their members together
with contact information for each of them:

NEST has been founded by Dr. Jill Ann Jenkins, a Chartered
Psychologist in the United Kingdom and a New York State Certified
Psychologist who has held teaching positions in the area of
psychological assessment and diagnosis in New York and London. In case
you are not sure if any of the psychologists presented on the NEST
website is what you are looking for, you should refer to Dr. Jenkins,
who acts as coordinator of the Network. Certainly, she will be able to
assist you in locating an expert who meets your needs:
